Joint Injections

Medications injected directly into a person’s joints to reduce pain, swelling, and increase range of motion. There are various types of injections, but the most common injections are in the knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, or wrists. They are also recommended for people with hand or foot pain.

Types of Injections:

Steroids: Corticosteroids are fast-acting, anti-inflammatory medications chemically similar to one of the body’s anti-inflammatory hormones called cortisol.

Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP): PRP involves taking a blood sample from a person and removing the red and white blood cells. Doctors then inject the remaining plasma and platelets into the person’s joint. Platelets contain proteins called growth factors, and these injections have a greater concentration of proteins than are typically found in blood.

Human Cellular Tissue: Provide long-lasting pain and discomfort relief. Human Cellular Tissue injection therapy helps regenerate and repair damaged tissue at the cellular level. The primary function is for coating, covering, and protecting the region. The long-lasting benefits include decreased inflammation, the clean up of scar tissue in the inflamed degenerated region, and the regeneration of that tissue into newer tissue protects the region from being easily re-injured.
